Unicorn's ‘Meet the Producers’ evening
Plus a presentation from one of the overseas projects supported by Unicorn
Wed Dec 2nd 7.30 – 9.00pm
“We like to connect people more with the food that they eat, and Christmas seems like a good time to bring staff, customers and producers together”.
Unicorn Grocery invites customers and other foodies to meet some of the farmers, bakers, brewers and other producers who supply the shop. From Little Valley Brewery in Todmorden to the new Glebelands City Growers team just down the road in Sale, a varied group of 12 or so of Unicorn’s producers will be bringing their samples and stories to the shop. Unicorn will also be providing materials to make Christmas hampers from the produce on offer, perfect for Christmas presents because everyone has to eat!
In addition, the director of one of the overseas projects supported by the business will be giving a brief presentation on the work they do. Karen Inwood, of the El Salvador Permaculture Network, will talk about their work with a growing network of subsistence farmers using ecological farming methods, in some of the most impoverished communities in El Salvador, Central America.
This event has a limited number of places. Tickets are on sale now and cost £2, but this is redeemable against purchases made on the night. Mulled wine and nibbles will be served.
Event starts at 7.30pm with brief presentations from Karen and the producers.
